On the palate, it's velvety and layered - expect juicy black fruit, black olive, and a touch of vanilla and dark chocolate from 12 months in oak barrels.

Founded in 1952, Cantine Sampietrana is a historic co-operative winery based in San Pietro Vernotico, between Lecce and Brindisi in Puglia. They focus on native grape varieties and sustainable farming, with many vines grown in the traditional alberello pugliese (free-standing bush vine) style – some of them over 50 years old.
The Negroamaro (80%) and Montepulciano (20%) grapes are hand-harvested, fermented in stainless steel, and then aged for a year in French oak barriques. After that, the wine matures for another year in bottle before release, giving it depth, complexity, and a refined character.
