WINE RETAIL AND BAR SITE ASSISTANT MANAGER - DIDSBURY
Full-time. 40 hours per week, Monday-Sunday between 10am-10pm
Reporting to the Manager, this role is varied, challenging and extremely rewarding for the right candidate.
The role includes everything from opening and closing the site, running busy shifts and snapping great photos for our social media channels, to assisting the manager with wine-tasting events, training the team and championing incentives to keep the team motivated.
We’re looking for someone who is super passionate about wine and spirits, can motivate themselves during the quiet times, is happy to get stuck in and is curious to try out different ideas.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use superb knowledge of wine and spirits to ensure our customers are educated on our wines, encourage them to taste and explore our range and offer unrivalled experiences when they visit our shop.
- Serve drink-in customers with the expected standard and deliver wine-tasting experiences wherever necessary
- Working with the site manager to ensure standards are kept high and procedures are followed to create a harmonious working environment where the whole team are working to their best ability
- Running efficient shifts, ensuring the right people are doing the right jobs and our customers are looked after in line with Reserve expectations
- Pass mystery shopper and cleanliness audits once per month
- Adhere to the weekly/monthly planner to ensure all weekly tasks are completed, emails responded to and any additional projects are tackled
- Strive to create a fun and educational working environment for the whole team, share knowledge on our products and strive to develop skills
- Be aware of weekly targets for sales, wages and gross profit and support the team to achieve these
- Support the manager to deliver the expected posts on social platforms in line with our brand
- Support the manager with any events, staff meetings and training sessions.
- Build sustained relationships with our customers and deliver exceptional service to each one
- Always use time effectively to complete tasks on time as well as being curious and learning our products, producers and stories to support delivering excellent customer experiences

REQUIREMENTS
- Supervisory or supporting manager experience, preferably within a bar and retail environment
- Customer-facing experience
- Wine and spirits knowledge (WSET 2&3 preferable)
- Confidence in running customer-tasting experiences would be beneficial
- Social media knowledge
SALARY & PACKAGE
40 hours per week
£25,480, plus Tronc, plus performance-related bonus
