Lyrarakis is one of Crete's most respected family wineries - and one of its most remarkable stories. Founded in 1966, they didn't just make wine from the island's indigenous grapes; they helped save three of them from extinction. From the peachy richness of Vidiano to the rare, mineral-driven Plyto, these are wines that taste unmistakably of where they come from. If you've ever had Cretan wine on holiday and wondered whether it could be this good at home, the answer is yes.

Domaine Saint Jean de Villecroze is a small, high-altitude Provence estate making beautifully precise rosé, blanc and rouge - and almost nobody in the UK has heard of them yet. We're one of only a handful of UK stockists, and the only one in the North of England. Here's why we think Selladore is the Provence discovery of the season.

Sauvignon Blanc Day is the perfect excuse to try something a little different. We're stepping away from the usual suspects to pour a Pfalz Sauvignon that sits beautifully between Loire precision and Marlborough boldness - and it's only £17, in-store this weekend.
