Sylvain took over 1982 and today his daughter Anne-Caroline is right in his footsteps, preparing to take over. They have 6+ ha, all of it in Meursault. The “simple” Bourgogne Blanc, which you might as well call Mini-Meursault, represents 50% of their small production. It’s incredibly well made with serious pedigree and should not be ignored. Early picking to retain freshness, long, cool elevage (when the wine spends time in the barrel after natural fermentation). Sylvain is highly respected by his peers and is considered one of the pillars of Meursault.

I also include some of Sylvain’s top Cuvée: Meursault le Limozin from 2020 and 2022 which are simply sensational wines. The 2020 is entering a beautiful phase now though of course has plenty more time left. The Cotes d’Or Pinot Noir is also one of the best value wines in this offer for me with its silky ripe red and black cherry profile and a hint of black pepper and mushroom.
