Get to know: Domaine Sylvain Dussort, Meursault Le Limozin 2020
Tasting Note
A stunning expression of Meursault, Le Limozin showcases the elegance and richness of this famed appellation. Expect aromas of ripe orchard fruits - apple, pear, and a touch of citrus zest - layered with subtle notes of almond, vanilla, and a hint of toast from oak aging. On the palate, it’s beautifully balanced, with vibrant acidity supporting a creamy texture and a long, mineral-driven finish. While approachable now, this wine will continue to develop greater depth over the next 3–5 years.
Try this with grilled fish in an almond butter, seared scallops in béchamel sauce, aged, salty, or nutty cheeses or Bresse chicken.
Kate Says
“Le Limozin is always a showstopper for me. It’s all about finesse - ripe fruit, a silky texture, and that hallmark Meursault minerality. Perfect for a special dinner, especially with buttery seafood dishes. The 2020 is entering a beautiful phase now, though of course has plenty more time left.”
Producer Info
Domaine Sylvan Dussort, based in one of the regions most famous white wine villages of Meursault, has been ran by Sylvain since 1982. They farm their 6.5 hectare estate sustainably, using minimal treatment and organic fertilisers in the vineyards. Here they use the oldest vines on their estate and ageing takes place in oak barrels for around 18 months before bottling. This is a youthful wine which will beneift from 5+ years ageing in cellar, showing lots of potential with lemon and savoury characters.
