Get to know: Domaine Sylvain Dussort Meursault Vieilles Vignes 2024

A classic Burgundy white wine from the heart of Meursault in the Côte de Beaune.

Tasting Note

Domaine Sylvain Dussort Meursault Vieilles Vignes 2024 is an elegant, expressive Chardonnay that shows all the class you’d expect from old vines in Meursault. Pale gold in colour, it opens with aromas of ripe orchard fruit, green apple, white flowers, and a subtle citrus lift. On the palate, this Meursault white wine is beautifully balanced, combining gentle richness and weight with a fresh, mineral backbone. There’s a creamy mid-palate texture, hints of ripe grape and soft florals, and a long, refined finish that carries real length and poise. A serious yet approachable Burgundy white with both charm and ageing potential.

Top food pairings:

  • Grilled scallops or shellfish in a creamy sauce
  • Foie gras or rich poultry dishes
  • White meats and soft, ripe cheeses
Kate Says

"Sylvain is highly respected by his peers and is considered one of the pillars of Meursault. This Meursault is a stunning white wine – generous, layered, and quietly confident. One for a long lunch that turns into dinner."

Producer Info

Domaine Sylvain Dussort is one of Meursault’s quietly revered estates, farming just over six hectares exclusively within the village. Sylvain took over the domaine in 1982 and is now joined by his daughter Anne-Caroline, ensuring continuity and care. Renowned for early harvesting and long, cool élevage, the domaine produces wines that balance richness with freshness, capturing the true character of Meursault’s varied limestone soils.

How it’s made:

  • Varieties: 100% Chardonnay
  • Hand-harvested from vines aged 50 years and over
  • Grapes sourced from multiple plots with complementary limestone-rich soils
  • Natural fermentation in oak barrels
  • Aged on the lees for 12–14 months in barrel (up to 30% new oak), then assembled and bottled after 16–18 months

Good to know:

  • Region: Meursault, Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France
  • Style: White, still, medium- to full-bodied
  • Closure: Natural cork
  • Vegan: No
  • ABV: TBC
  • Vintage: 2024

Why we love it:

This Meursault white wine is a superb example of old-vine Burgundy Chardonnay, combining depth, texture, and freshness in perfect harmony. It’s a wine that shines young but rewards patience, making it a brilliant choice for both the table and the cellar.
