Dom. Sylvain Dussort, Bourgogne Blanc Cuvee des Ormes 2024

Get to know: Domaine Sylvain Dussort Bourgogne Blanc Cuvée des Ormes 2024

A beautifully crafted Burgundy white wine from the heart of Meursault in the Côte de Beaune.

Tasting Note

Domaine Sylvain Dussort Bourgogne Blanc Cuvée des Ormes 2024 is an elegant, quietly confident Chardonnay that delivers far more than its appellation suggests. Pale gold in colour, it opens with refined aromas of ripe orchard fruit, citrus peel, hazelnut, and a subtle creamy note from time on lees. On the palate, this Bourgogne Blanc is supple and well balanced, combining gentle richness with fresh acidity and a pleasingly silky texture. The finish is long, poised, and lightly savoury, making this a wine that feels very much like a “mini-Meursault” in style. A classy, age-worthy white Burgundy that punches well above its weight.

Top food pairings:

  • Grilled or roasted white fish with a beurre blanc
  • Chicken or veal in a creamy white wine sauce
  • Soft cheeses such as Brie or Chaource
Kate Says

"This is one of those wines that reminds you why people fall in love with white Burgundy. Understated, elegant, and quietly brilliant – a bottle that never hangs around for long."

Producer Info

Domaine Sylvain Dussort is one of Meursault’s most respected family estates. Sylvain took over the domaine in 1982, and today his daughter Anne-Caroline is closely involved, continuing the estate’s thoughtful, terroir-driven approach. Farming over six hectares exclusively in Meursault, the family is known for early harvesting to preserve freshness and long, cool élevage to build texture and complexity – hallmarks of their refined white Burgundy style.

How it’s made:

  • Varieties: 100% Chardonnay
  • Fruit sourced from three hectares of Bourgogne Blanc vineyards in Meursault, with vines aged 35 to over 60 years
  • Hand-harvested to ensure optimal ripeness and quality
  • Natural fermentation followed by ageing in oak barrels on the lees for 12 months
  • Racked once, then assembled in tank before bottling after 16–18 months, depending on the vintage

Good to know:

  • Region: Bourgogne Blanc, Côte de Beaune, France
  • Style: White, still, elegant and medium-bodied
  • Closure: Natural cork
  • ABV: 13.5%
  • Vintage: 2024

Why we love it:

This Burgundy white wine offers all the charm and finesse of Meursault at a more approachable level. With its balance of freshness, gentle richness, and impressive length, it’s a superb introduction to top-quality Chardonnay from the Côte de Beaune and a brilliant choice to enjoy now or cellar for up to six years.
