Get to know: Dom. Sylvain Dussort, Bourgogne Blanc Cuvee des Ormes
Tasting Note
This is a great value white Burgundy from a great vintage. There's lovely fresh grapefruit and lemon and apple fruit on the nose and palate with balanced oak ageing adding a lovely creaminess to the texture and giving it lovely body and depth. The finish is long and very impressive. This is vibrant and fresh now, despite the richness and will mature and become more complex if cellared correctly for 5+ years.
A wine to enjoy with shellfish.
Kate Says
"This gorgeous Chardonnay uses fruit from their oldest vines which gives this great intensity of fruit. Sylvain then gives it a bit of Meursault-like richness through barrel ageing. I'd have this with something in a creamy sauce."
