Get to know: Lionel Osmin, La Baie Orientale
Tasting Note
This Southern French white uses an unusual and aromatic blend of of Muscat, Muscadelle, Gewurztraminer, Viognier and Riesling that delivers an aromatic wine that is fresh and dry. You'll find flavours and aromas of melon, white peach, apricot, citrus and white flowers like elderflower and honeysuckle. This is soft on the palate with enough balancing acidity to keep it dry, and certainly much fresher than you might expect from the sweet ripe fruit on the nose.
This would be great with lightly spiced seafood dishes.
Kate Says
"We love this wines of Lionel Osmin and this was a standout at a tasting of their range. The blend is a bit bonkers on paper but it works. If you're looking for aa dry but aromatic white wine this is the one for you."
