Get to know: Chateau Briatte, Sauternes 2019 (37.5cl)
Tasting Note
A wonderfully expressive and effortless example of Sauternes sweet wine from a charming Family producer. The nose is full of aromatic apricot, apple orange peel, honey and beeswax notes. It leads to a palate with beautiful concentration and mouth coating texture particularly once its has time to open up with aeration. Those fruit flavours continue with honeycomb, almond, brioche and dried fruit that linger beautifully on the finish. This manages to be light, vibrant and refreshing almost, despite the sweetness.
An amazing pairing with cheeses and fruit desserts.
