This is a seriously special wine gift.Gifts for those who prefer not to drink alcohol
Christmas Cheers: Luxury Alcohol-Free Red & White Wine Gift Box £36.50
Enjoy all the fun of the festive season without the alcohol. These are definitely a cut above the other alcohol-free wines we've tried. They look really attractive I think and they’re good for what they do. Perfect for celebrations, gatherings, and a great gift choice. Based on superb Spanish juice, there's an aromatic and fruity dry white and a fabulously fruity red. Get ready to toast to a merry and bright Christmas!
Botivo Aperitif £28
Botivo is one of the more interesting and satisfying alcohol alternatives we've tried, and while it's great in a spritz, it has a lot of potential for blending. I tried it with Hip Pop Ginger Yuzu kombucha and it’s brilliant. Style wise it's like a botanical vermouth with its lovely bittersweet moreish-ness rather than a gin, but it's best to enjoy it as its own thing. However you enjoy it, it's certainly had some buzz around it this year and is one to be seen with this winter.
If in doubt, choose glassware
Schott Zwiesel Vivid Senses Sparkling Wine Glass, £22.00 a pair
Made by highly respected German glassware producer Schott Zwiesel, these Vivid Senses sparkling wine glasses stand out for their elongated bowl and effervescence point at the base, which maintains that special fizz in sparkling wine and champagne.
Gifts for the those who prefer spirits
Salford Rum Miniature Gift Set (3 x 5cl), £18.00
Chateau de Montifaud XO Attitude Decanter (70cl, 40%), £96.00
Presented in a striking Attitude Decanter. This is aged for over 20 years in red Limousin oak casks and then in ‘old’ barrels, and is made from a series of eaux-de-vie from the Petite Champagne terroir. Elegant, floral, fine and original, with impressive complexity. Aromas of candied fruit (apricot, prune, peach, apple) mixed with a note of honey, cocoa. The texture is full, mellow and silky leading to a refreshing finish with a warming spiciness that goes on an on. Taste at 20°C, to appreciate its suppleness, finesse and complexity.
For those with a sweet tooth, Elodie Vallet suggests a tasting of this with a chocolate dessert!

Kate Says
"Mulled wine is a Christmas essential. Just the smell of it can get you in the festive mood. This is a great time saver, just pop it in a pan and warm it up for a cosy sip that is sure to make you smile."
