"If you're looking for a case of really good wines and are feeling overwhelmed by the range, this is the place to start. Wines we love that have been tried and tested again and again so you know they're good."
Paolo Leo, Pianerosse Verdeca, 12.5% Italy
A delightful, fresh and fruity wine from the south of Italy. The aroma is delicate with hints of apple, citrus and white peach. Fresh and salty on the palate, with a bright refreshing character, and a subtle almond hint on the long and elegant finish.
Calusari, Pinot Grigio, 12% Romania, Vegan
Lovely, bright aromas of grapefruit and peach follow through to a light body, with lots of fruit as well as abundant melon and apple character and citrusy acidity.
Iona, Sophie Te'Blanche Sauvignon Blanc, 13% South Africa, Vegan
Floral notes with a complex medley of tropical fruits, mingled with subtle lime and gooseberry undertones. The palate is balanced and rich, showing cut green apples with great minerality and texture.
Cramele Recas, Solevari Reserve Feteasca Regala, 12.5% Romania, Vegan
This is full of charm with slight floral notes and gentle aromas of peaches, pears and pineapple fruit. It's instantly refreshing on palate thanks to the mouth watering acidity and it glides across the palate with elegance revealing a little minerality on a lengthy dry finish.
Jean Didier Colombard Ugni Blanc, 11.5% France, Vegan
This is just the kind of lighter, easy drinking wine that's a reliable option for a mid-week glass after work or when a friend pops by for lunch. Fresh, fruity and delicious
One Chain, The Googly Chardonnay, 12.5% Australia
Australia is brilliant for fruity wines that are easy to drink and have labels that are easy to understand. This Chardonnay is exactly that but it also has a welcome fresh, zippy lemon character that really lifts the tropical and melon fruit
Solara Natural Red, 13.5%, Romania, Vegan
All about the pure clean fruit and it is packed full of bramble fruit notes with raspberry and blackberry dominating the aroma. The palate is smooth and juicy with complex notes of blueberry balanced by gentle acidity and smooth tannins on the finish.
Monte Oton, Campo de Borja Garnacha, 13.5%, Spain
Bright juicy plum and blackberry aromas. The palate is soft and approachable with cassis, plum, bramble and cherry characters. Supple tannins create an appealing finish.
Heilan Coo Shiraz Mataro, 14% Australia, Vegan
A really expressive, bright, contemporary Aussie red. The nose of soft, open, chocolatey fruit has a clove note with a palate of fresh brambly, cherry-red fruit that leads to a gentle spicy finish. Ideal BBQ wine.
Alceno, Sierra de Enmedio Monastrell, 13% Spain
Monastrell is the Spanish name for the Mourvèdre grape and it thrives in hot regions like Jumilla. This example from family owned winery Alceno is ripe, fruity & delicious. I'd enjoy this with a few plates of meaty tapas.
Les Volets Malbec, 13% France, Vegan
A fresh and lighter style of Malbec with aromas of crushed blueberries, crème de cassis with a touch of parma violets. The palate is full of fine red fruit, cranberries and a touch of cocoa nib on the bright finish.
Le Professeur Marselan, 14.5% France, Vegan
You don't need to be a Scientist to know this is a delicious red wine. Marselan is an unusual grape that is worthy of the spotlight here. I'd enjoy this with a meaty ragu.
