Looking ahead in 2023 our minds turn to think about which wines may be trending up this year. What are the wines that we will be drinking throughout the year and which grapes and regions will shine?

For us it's a mixture of rediscovering old favourites as well as continuing to discover exciting new wines. We're taking a fresh look at Beaujolais, and Grenache based reds that offer fresher juicier styles. We're looking to big red blends, particularly those with less typical combinations. The Verdejo grape from Rueda continues to enthrall us and we'll be reassessing chardonnay through more balanced new world examples.

Indigenous grape varieties from all over will provide us with new discoveries, and we'll continue to search out the natural wines and orange wines that have a emphasis on quality winemaking, energy and purity.  

It'll be a year when we encourage more people try sparkling red wines too, and when more of us choose not to drink and opt for an alcohol free alternative instead.
