Get to know: Opta Reserva Dão
Tasting Note
A complex and well balanced portuguese red, made from Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro and Tinta Roriz grapes aged for 9 months in oak barrels. The result is vibrant with expressive notes of cassis, chocolate and mocha from the time in oak. It has gentle, refined tannins and powerful and rich finish.
Try this with a Portgueuse prego roll (a grilled steak sandwich marinated in peri peri sauce, herbs and tomatoes)
Kate Says
"This wine stood out at a recent staff tasting, it punches well above its price. Ripe and concentrated fruit with just enough oak to add depth. It still has a good freshness too. I'd have this with spiced lamb chops, but you could enjoy it on its own too."
