Kate Says

"If you're looking for a case of really top notch wines and are feeling overwhelmed by the range, this is the place to start. These are some of the most exciting, dynamic and delicious wines I've enjoyed recently. A serious treat."

What's in it?

Chateau Picoron, Le Bon Nobel, 14.5% France, Organic, Vegan

"This is a very eye-catching wine from a dynamic winery. It uses only a single-plot of Merlot grapes from to create a generously flavoured wine that has mellowed with time into something rather delicious. Ideal for sharing over dinner with friends."

Queiron Mi Lugar, Vino de Quel, 14.5%, Spain

"A modern Rioja that isn't classified under the traditional Crianza - Reserva system, however it spends 24 months in oak in total so would qualify as Gran Reserva. There seems to be a trend of departure from this way of making Rioja to highlight more specific aspects of each terroir and wineries’ identities. I just know we loved it. Superb with roast lamb dishes or a Moroccan Tagine"

Meandro do Vale Meao Douro Tinto, 14% Portugal, Vegan

"We were fortunate enough to visit this historic vineyard and were blown away by their wines. This is the perfect introduction to their style of balancing powerful wines with superb fruit and characteristic freshness. Best decanted before serving. Try this with a homely rustic stew."

Vincent Girardin, Bourgogne Blanc "Terroir Noble", 13% France

The fruit for this wine comes from vines all situated in the communes of Puligny, Chassagne and Meursault. This is classy and textured with crisp, clean citrus, apple and pear and very pure minerality. The wine feels very in control of its elements and has an expressive, creamy finish. This wine can be enjoyed in 2-3 years and will last up to 8 years.

Soalheiro Pet Nat Alvarinho, 12% Portugal, Vegan

"I love Albarino and this fresh, sparkling take on the grape is a delight. You'd expect no less though from Soalheiro, who continue to push what this varietal can do and always with a focus on precise, ripe flavour."

Flint Vineyard, Silex Blanc, 12% England, Vegan

"Flint Vineyard are becoming one of the most exciting English wineries around. For me this white wine is on par with a good, characterful Burgundy, albeit with plenty of English charm. I'd enjoy this with scallops and langoustines."
