Libre Y Salvaje Narancha 2020

Get to know: Libre Y Salvaje Narancha

Tasting Note

Libre y Salvaje is an old winery located in the historic village of Almonacid de la Sierra. This unique enclave is characterized by its caves, mountain vineyards, old  vines and organic farming. For this winery there is only one rule, to follow the law of nature. This wine remains on its skin for about 75 days in a mix of clay amphora and French oak. In the glass it is full of orange citrus zest, pomello, and overripe apple fruit aromas and flavours. There's a spicy complexity too with ginger hints but also an aromatic apple blossom and dried flower layer. Round on the palate with bright acidity to leave you with a refreshing finish.

Try this with roasted butternut squash and chilli pasta

Producer Info

The winery is in the historic town of Almonacid de la Sierra in the Algairén mountain range Algairé, D.O. Cariñena. Creating landscape wines which speak of a unique land is the essence and passion of Libre y Salvaje (Free & Wild). Freestyle, wild vines. Just one rule: follow the law of nature; minimal intervention to achieve maximum expression. High altitude vineyards of native varieties, old dry vines, and ecological agriculture. Wine is elaborated and aged following artisanal methods in wooden foudre, stainless steel, concrete and big clay jars in an old winery with caves for aging in an optimal natural environment. Rescue great abandoned vineyards of native varieties, recover a cellar with centuries-old caves and back to the past to look ahead. Because in life, the best is always free and wild.
