Vila Jardim Red 2022

Get to know: Vila Jardim Red

A bright and approachable Portuguese red wine from the Tejo region.

Tasting Note

Vila Jardim Red is a juicy, easy-drinking red blend that balances vibrant red fruit with subtle herbal undertones. Pomegranate in colour with aromas of red cherry, raspberry, blackberry, and a hint of spice from Trincadeira and Touriga Nacional. On the palate, it’s smooth and rounded, with the Trincadeira offering lively red berry flavours and a touch of herbaceous lift, while Touriga Nacional adds depth, dark fruit, and body. Gentle tannins lead to a fresh, persistent finish. This Tejo red wine is a versatile, crowd-pleasing example of central Portuguese winemaking.

Top food pairings:

  • Sausage and mash
  • Mature cheddar or other hard cheeses
  • Charcuterie boards or tapas-style nibbles
Kate Says

"This is a very easy-going wine that's a good one to have on the wine rack for those moments that call for a glass of something. The name translates as Garden Village and we were impressed by the authentic quality of fruit and winemaking. Very good value."

Producer Info

Vila Jardim is made by Quinta Vale do Armo, perched above the Tagus River in central Portugal. The estate’s temperate climate, clay-limestone soils, and altitude of 150–250m produce wines with expressive fruit and a smooth, approachable character. As part of the Lindeborg group, the winery focuses on sustainability, modernised viticulture, and quality winemaking that reflects the true character of the Tejo region.

How it’s made:

  • Varieties: Trincadeira, Touriga Nacional
