Vila Jardim Red, 13.5%, Portugal
This is a very easy-going wine that's a good one to have on the wine rack for those moments that call for a glass of something. The name translates as Garden Village and we were impressed by the authentic quality of fruit and winemaking. Very good value.
Miopasso Primitivo, 14%, Italy
The 'catch up with a friend' red. From Southern Italy this Primtivo from Puglia has all the warmth of the sun in its ripe, dark berry flavours. We love this with pasta in a meaty ragu sauce.
Domaine Gayda, Flying Solo Red, 13.5%, France - Vegan

False Bay, 'Slow' Chenin Blanc, 13.5%, Spain - Vegan
The wild ferment white. We love the wines made by False Bay. Their slowly fermented Chenin uses wild yeast shows you can get refreshing wine full of creamy lemon fruit with a subtle savoury complexity at an affordable price. Brilliant with herby roast chicken.
Alceno, Sierra de Enmedio Sauvignon Blanc, 12%, Spain - Vegan
The sunshine white. This is just the kind of lighter, easy-drinking wine that's a reliable option for a mid-week glass after work or when a friend pops by for lunch. A very fresh and aromatic Spanish Sauvignon Blanc with a nice intensity of tropical fruit, floral blossom notes and a hint of almond nuttiness. Try this with pizza or a few plates of tapas.
