Find Your New Favourite... Rosé Wine

You have probably noticed that rosé wine has steadily been growing in popularity. What was once a drink you might only enjoy while on holiday in the summer has now become a year round choice for wine lovers.

This growth has been down to an overall improvement in quality - it has coincided with a shift away from sweeter styles to drier, more elegant examples.  Another factor is the photo-friendly colour. This is especially true in the USA, where rosé sales have grown enormously, driven by brands pushing an aspirational lifestyle with rosé at its centre.

France remains the largest producer of rose wine in the world and has set the template for what a modern rosé should be. The Côte de Provence established itself as a region dedicated to the style and it's popularity has seen many other winemakers seek to emulate the pale colour and refreshing acidity that make it so appealing.

Rosé is still a summer essential, and can be very versatile to match with food.

We've collected some of our favourites and new arrivals to offer you a sensational selection of rosé wines from France, Austria, Portugal and beyond.

The focus is on refreshment and the wines here are dry and crisp. They retain the structure of a dry white while adding a juicy dollop of summer berry fruit.  So if you're looking to enjoy more rosé or keen to discover something new, then something in this selection is ideal for you.

Domaine Gayda, La Minuette Rose 2024

A treat for fans of Provence-style Rosé. The is a classy organic Languedoc rosé with a soft Provençal style and a real sense of elegance. Pale pink in the glass, it leads with delicate floral and citrus notes - raspberry, grapefruit, redcurrant, and a hint of cherry blossom. On the palate, there’s wild strawberry and fresh clementine, with just a touch of orange zest to lift the finish. It’s dry, fine, and ever so moreish, thanks to bright acidity and a soft, supple texture. A brilliant pick for warm weather and laid-back evenings. This is an elegant French rosé wine that holds its own on the table but doesn’t take itself too seriously.

Domaine Gayda, Flying Solo Rose 2024

This organic rosé wine from the south of France is a real crowd-pleaser. Made from Grenache and Cinsault grapes, it’s full of crisp wild strawberry, raspberry and cherry fruit, zesty citrus, a touch of elderflower and a delicate mineral finish thanks to the limestone-rich soils of the Languedoc. A refreshing, food-friendly rosé that’s perfect served chilled.

Try this with grilled asparagus and quinoa salad, a coconut and lime fish curry or soft goat’s cheese.

Amie X Rosé

Amie X Rose

This is a new project borne out of Covid 19 lockdown from Will Sandbach, Abbie Roden and Hermione Underwood. Their tagline is ' A wine for friends, by friends' and they've collaborated to bring us this delightful Provence-style rose from Languedoc in the South of France.

The very stylish and Instagram friendly bottle contains a super appealing wine made from a blend of organic Grenache and Cinsault. On the palate it is light and crisp with citrus and strawberry characteristics. One to be seen with - but would also be great with a seared tuna steak.

Vega Tolosa, 11 Pinos Bobal Rose

Vega Tolosa, 11 Pinos Bobal Rose

A fabulous addition to our Rosé selection made from the best Bobal grapes of the Tolosa Family. Organic & Sustainable production using native fruit from 80+ years old vines in an Unesco Biosphere Reserve. The wine is crisp, fruity and rather spot on for a good day quaffing easily. I'd enjoy this with a simple lunch like a red pepper and manchego cheese wrap.

Kate Says
"We love the wines from Lavradores de Feitoria. They are full of vibrant flavour, bursting with character and freshness. This rosé blend of Portuguese grapes is definitely worth a try if you like a dry and fruity style. It's a wine I'd like to be drinking al fresco at a picnic"

Domaine des Tourelles, Rose

Domaine des Tourelles, Rose 2023, 12% Italy, Vegan

This is a wonderful Lebanese Rose from the talented team at Domaine des Tourelles. Made using a blend of Cinsault, Tempranillo and Syrah grapes, this has a fuller-body than a typical Provence style wine, with flavours of ripe summer fruits with a zesty spicy finish. There's just has a bit more oomph, ripeness and spice alongside plenty of strawberry and red cherry flavour. A charming and delicious wine.

Try this with spicy antipasti, Tabbouleh, Baba Ghanoush with olive oil, lemon & garlic, grilled lamb.
