Truly outstanding Riesling from Slovenia. It has around 14 days of skin contact before undergoing wild yeast ferment and full malolactic fermentation to add a richer texture, before 24 months in old oak barrels. A beautiful amber colour in the glass, it jumps out of the glass with floral aromatics and hints of ginger and spiced apples and a beautiful texture in the mouth.
This is a really food friendly wine and you could try it with a number of cuisines, it wouldn't be afraid of big flavours or spice.
Marija and Bozidar Zorjan have been farming this estate in the village of Pohorje since the 1980's and in 1995 they under went full organic conversion with a real focus on quality, terroir driven wines from their small 4 hectare estate.
