Here’s a wine to make you think of summer holidays. This Greek blend of Agiorgitiko and Cabernet Sauvignon from the Peloponnese has beautifully inviting aroma of cherries and plums, with notes of pepper and vanilla. On the palate, it is rich, mature, fleshy, well-structured and with beautifully softened tannins.
Try this with spicy dishes or a hearty moussaka.
Zacharias Vineyards was founded by Elias Zacharias in 1974 and relies on tradition as well as a high level of scientific expertise. Their vision is to move the local varietals –especially the Aghiorgitiko and the Sklava- to the forefront of both the Greek and the international winemaking scene; to create wines which are accessible and great value, while also respecting the environment. The oldest part of their vineyards is found in the Tsintari location, in Nemea. A small part of Aghiorgitiko grapes have been planted there since 1960, right next to the ancient Acropolis of Phlious.
The fruit for these wines comes from selected vineyards in Nemea. The grapes are manually harvested and fermented seperately before blending.
