Yves Cuilleron, Syrah "Les Vignes d'a Cote" 2024

Get to know: Yves Cuilleron Syrah Les Vignes d'à Côté 2024

A vibrant French Syrah from the sun-drenched slopes of the Northern Rhône, crafted in the IGP Collines Rhodaniennes.

Tasting Note

Yves Cuilleron Syrah Les Vignes d'à Côté 2024 is an elegant red wine that beautifully showcases the finesse of Syrah from the Northern Rhône. Brilliant ruby in colour with enticing aromas of fresh red fruits, crushed blackcurrant, raspberry, and a hint of black pepper. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with lush flavours of cherries, dark blackberry, and spicy notes typical of Syrah, underlined by subtle cracked pepper and fine tannins. It finishes long and silky, with a peppery lift and fresh acidity that harmonises perfectly. A polished Northern Rhône Syrah with immediate appeal, yet capable of developing further complexity over a few years.

Top food pairings:

  • Braised lamb shoulder with rosemary and garlic
  • Grilled beef skewers or charcuterie boards
  • Hearty mushroom risotto or roasted root vegetables
Kate Says

"This Syrah has that beautiful Northern Rhône balance – vibrant fruit, spice, and a little velvet in the tannins. Perfect for a weekend roast or when you want a wine that makes a statement without being over the top."

Producer Info

Yves Cuilleron is a leading Northern Rhône vigneron based in Chavanay, just south of Condrieu. Since taking over the family estate in 1987, Yves has championed quality across both whites and reds, expanding vineyards and modernising the cellar while respecting the unique terroirs of the region. His dedication to terroir expression, careful vineyard management, and innovative winemaking techniques have made him a reference point for Syrah and Condrieu alike.

How it’s made:

  • Varieties: 100% Syrah
  • Hand-harvested at optimal ripeness to balance freshness and depth
  • Careful sorting and de-stemming in the cellar to preserve purity
  • Fermentation with native yeasts in open vats, macerated for around two weeks
  • Aged 8 months, 50% in barrels and 50% in vats for complexity and structure

Good to know:

  • Region: IGP Collines Rhodaniennes, Northern Rhône, France
  • Style: Red, still, medium- to full-bodied
  • Closure: Cork
  • Vegan: No
  • ABV: 12%
  • Vintage: 2024

Why we love it:

This Northern Rhône Syrah delivers the perfect mix of juicy red fruits, peppery spice, and refined tannins. It’s versatile at the table, equally at home with grilled meats, hearty winter dishes, or a shared platter of charcuterie, offering both immediate pleasure and subtle complexity for those who want to savour it over a few years.
