This is a very pale red that is absolutely packed full of flavour. In the glass you're greeted by a medley of floral aromas including flowers, cherry blossoms, rose petals and hibiscus along with fruity notes of cranberry juice and tart cherries with a hint of sweet kirsch character. On the palate the fruit is joined by umami notes of fresh hazelnuts in skins, game meat and an earthy edge. It has a light touch, carrying across the palate with an effortless grace before ending with a savoury finish and lifted acidity. Very moreish, so easy to drink.

Xavier Goodridge crafts idiosyncratic expressions of Pinot Noir born on his organically farmed vineyard in Gippsland’s Maffra, the Gunaikurnai Country. In collaboration with exceptional growers from Mount Gambier and Henty and uses a light touch in the winery, Xavier lets the wines speak of the land.
Xavier’s ‘light touch’ on wines involves the wines fermenting spontaneously with no fining, filtration or additions except for small amounts of sulphur. Wines are usually raised in large-format old French oak, which allows them to mature gently and gracefully. This choice reflects his preference for a more restrained and harmonious integration of the vessel used, allowing the fruit to take centre stage. The result is a collection of wines that captivate the senses with their purity and lively energy.
Papa range is a reflection of Xavier’s passion for working with the finest growers he has encountered during many years in the wine industry. Drawing from his extensive experience and connections, he collaborates with some of the best viticulturists to craft his range.
The fruit comes from Mount Gambier and Heywood in South West Victoria. This is Xavier’s original flagship wine. Made to make people happy. As Xavier says, it's everything that a Pinot Noir should be! The grapes are 100% destemmed and fermented in stainless steel for 2-3 weeks. Pressed and aged in a mixture of stainless and old barrels then filtered and bottled in July.
