Tasting Note

This is Torabhaig Allt Glean unfiltered. Oaky vanilla and bonfire smoke lead the nose, cigar box and lemon peel adding some lift on top. At 61.1% the peat smoke dominates the palate properly, but there's oily citrus and a hint of tropical fruit alongside it, with vanilla biscuit and something faintly medicinal running underneath. The finish turns floral, orchard fruit and savoury peat smoke meeting a real hit of sea salt at the end. This batch-strength bottling as a farewell to the Allt Gleann chapter of its Legacy Series, so once it's gone, this particular version is done.

Serving suggestions:

• Neat first, to take in the strength before adding anything
• A few drops of water to bring out the sea salt and orchard fruit on the finish
• One for the peat-and-cask-strength collectors rather than a casual dram

Torabhaig Distillery is based on the Isle of Skye (only the second ever licensed Single Malt Whisky distillery on the island), producing an island-style, peated single malt whisky. The legacy series documents the evolution of their house style and will culminate in the release of their first 10 year old This batch-strength release closes out the Allt Gleann chapter of the distillery's Legacy Series. It is crafted from a blend of Concerto and Laureate malted barley.
