Get to know: The Underworld, Grenache Blanc
Tasting Note
This wine is a very pleasant discovery. A blend of Grenache Blanc grown on bush vines in Piekernierskloof and Paarl fruit. The Paarl portion has been part fermented in oak to add a little body, the rest sees stainless steel to preserve all the freshness. The result is a very flavoursome, juicy and exotic wine. On the nose it has aromas of lemon peel, juniper, jasmine and guava. These follow on to the palate supported by pithy acidity, good length and structure. A very nice discovery and well worth trying if you enjoy Sauvignon or Albarino.
Try with spring rolls and a papaya salad.
