The Whiskymaker’s Editions is a series of one-off releases showcasing the sense of adventure of the Lakes whiskymaker – Dhavall Gandhi. Each Edition is an exceptional diversion from The Lakes sherry-led signature style; an expression of creative freedom. The rich, intense character of Infinity has a captivating and adventurous aroma of incense sticks, musk and toasted rye bread. The palate is a complex journey of spice and dates, treacle, cocoa nibs, leading to a finish that is long and intriguing.
Matured in a multitude of our finest sherry butts, including rare Palo Cortado seasoned American oak casks, it is the art of blending, carefully layering complimentary and contrasting flavours, and balancing aromas that makes it possible to create a complex whisky that unlocks a different dimension with every sip.
The Lakes Distillery is Cockermouth within the Lake District National Park in the north of England. It is the first whisky distillery operating in the Lakes for over 100 years. Paul Currie was a veteran of the Scottish Whisky industry and saw the potential in the area. After renovating an old dairy farm they were able to bring that vision to reality. Together with whiskymaker Dhavall Gandhi they set about creating a unpeated, sherried whisky that was distinctive for the place, and continue to create and innovate through new editions.
