A chance encounter at the Liverpool Beer Expo brought Gemma and Keith from our Bents shop together with Jordan, co-owner of Tartarus Brewing. They got chatting about women in beer—how there’s still progress to be made, but things are moving in the right direction. Gemma shared the story of Kate, our very own female boss, and how Reserve came to be.
Jordan was inspired and eager to collaborate, leading to the creation of this punchy, modern hazy pale ale. Packed with juicy hop flavours and perfectly balanced, it’s a brew that’s as drinkable as it is bold.

Tartarus Beers was founded in 2020 by Jack Roberts and Jordan Orpen. They brew small batch craft beer, with a mythical edge. Based in Sheepscar just outside of Leeds City Centre. The brewery is named after the Greek underworld, and they have quickly established themselves as an innovative brewery in the Leeds craft beer scene, known for its unique and flavorful creations inspired by mythology and legends.
