Get to know: Taltarni, Essence Tache Rosé
Tasting Note
Fantastic Champagne-style rosé fizz from Australia. It's full-bodied on the palate and finely balanced, with red fruit flavours of strawberry and raspberry but also a little tropical lychee note. There's richness too with toasty brioche and biscuity flavours adding depth on the finish. Delicious stuff that makes for a sophisticated party wine.
Kate Says
This is a brilliant value wine for anyone who enjoys Champagne. Taltarni are the kind of winemakers that really care about every detail, and create wines with really vivid fruit flavours and effortless balance. This is a wine to sip with canapés.
Producer Info
Established in 1969, Taltarni Vineyards is one of the pioneering wineries of Victoria's Pyrenees wine region. Owner John Goelet, a direct descendant of the Guestier wine merchant family of Bordeaux, discovered and purchased Taltarni Vineyard after conducting a worldwide search for a site comparable to the great vineyards of Bordeaux.
Taché is the French word for 'stained'. At disgorging Taltarni Taché is stained with red wine, which imparts the unique taste and elegant salmon colour. This wine reflects the low yielding aged vines from which it was harvested.
