Get to know: Tabali, Pedregoso Gran Reserva Viognier
We love this Chilean Viognier. It has an alluringly exotic aroma of citrus, orange peel, dried apricot, fresh pears and peaches, plus hints of candied fruit. On the palate it has a soft and rounded texture with honeyed citrus flavours combining more pear and peach before finishing dry with chalky minerality so typical of Limari. Bright, expressive and pure.
Try with pad Thai with prawns.
"Viognier can be an exciting and exotic grape and a good alternative for fans of tropical unoaked Chardonnay. If you've never tried it, this lovely Chilean example is a great place to start."
Established in 2002, Tabalí is a pioneer and iconic winery situated in Limarí, on the edge of the Atacama Desert in one of the northernmost vineyard regions of Chile. They were one of the first wineries to settle in Limarí and their wines faithfully reflect their place of origin in which climate and soils play a fundamental role, and bring out the potential of each of their vineyards.
This wine is suitable for consumption by Vegetarians and Vegans.
