Classic Chilean Merlot full of blackcurrants, blueberries and soft black cherries with smooth tannins and well balanced acidity. There's a bit of leather on the nose and a slight roast coffee note to the palate, but this is really all about the fruit.
A nice wine to open midweek with tomato based pasta dishes.
"We've been impressed by the wines from Siegel and this is a great place to start enjoying their range. A mellow Merlot where the fruit is the star. The kind of wine I like to have around for when you just fancy a glass of something."
Viña Siegel has more than 700 hectares planted with vineyards strategically located over several regions ranging from the foothills of The Andes, at Los Lingues to the highest coast zones, like Peralillo, and really close to the Pacific Ocean at the Leyda Valley.
This red was fermented and aged mainly in stainless steel with 25% of the wine spending a short period of time in French oak barrels.
