Sauvignon Blanc is a grape that can have flavours ranging from passionfruit, gooseberry, grapefruit, guava and lime on the nose and palate along with more herbaceous and floral flavours of fresh-cut grass, bell pepper and tomato leaf depending on where it is grown. It is often zesty and refreshing and has been one of the most popular grape varieties for many years. "Sauvignon Blanc is a fantastic grape that delivers really fruity and refreshing wines. This case has three of our favourite examples. Unwind or entertain with a glass or two of these."
Iona, Sophie Te'Blanche Sauvignon Blanc - South Africa
The weekday bottle - Honestly this is a bit more than a weekday bottle, but we couldn't resist including it. A complex medley of tropical fruits, mingled with subtle lime and gooseberry undertones. The palate is balanced and rich, showing cut green apples with great minerality and texture.
Kono Sauvignon Blanc - New Zealand
The weekend bottle - Definitely a treat for a Friday or Saturday night. This pure and bright Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc has a vibrant fruit-driven nose bursting with citrus fruits and herbaceous characters. On the palate luscious flavours of lemon zest and guava combine with notes of currant leaf and fresh bell pepper.
Emille Balland Coteaux Du Giennois - France
The special occasion bottle - Showing off the more subtle and sophisticated side of the grape, this super old vine Sauvignon Blanc is from the heart of Coteaux du Giennois which is next door to Sancerre. The calcareous soils add the signature minerality and five months ageing on the lees just softens the acidity slightly. Lots of fresh lime citrus, gooseberry and a grassy aroma with a chalky mineral finish.
