Get to know: River Farm, Sauvignon Blanc 2024

A vibrant and expressive Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc from the heart of New Zealand’s most famous wine region.

Tasting Note

Crafted exclusively from estate-grown grapes across the Awatere and Wairau Valleys, River Farm showcases the purity, intensity, and elegance that has made New Zealand  Sauvignon Blanc world famous. This wine bursts with aromas of gooseberry, kaffir lime, fresh apricot, and lemon peel. The palate is lively and flavoursome, delivering layers of tropical and citrus fruit alongside vibrant acidity and a clean, mineral finish.  Perfect for sunny lunches, seafood feasts, or crisp aperitifs.

Top food pairings:

  • Pan-seared sea bass with fresh salad greens
  • Goat’s cheese tart with asparagus
  • Sushi and sashimi with wasabi and soy
Kate Says

"This Sauvignon Blanc is more on the grassy side but also more textural – still bursting with citrus,  tropical lift, and that signature mouth-watering freshness. It’s vibrant yet refined, and exactly the kind of wine I reach for when seafood or summer sunshine is on the menu."

Producer Info

River Farm is a fourth-generation family-owned winery, run by brothers James and Andrew Jones, whose family first settled in Marlborough in the late 1800s. With 330 acres of prime vineyard land in both the Awatere and Wairau Valleys, River Farm captures the distinct personalities of each sub-region. The crystal-clear Awatere River feeds the alluvial soils, creating unique flavour profiles that shine through in every bottle.

How it’s made:

  • 100% estate-grown fruit from Awatere and Wairau Valley vineyards
  • Grapes harvested and pressed quickly to preserve aromatic purity
  • Cold settling before fermentation with selected yeast in stainless steel tanks
  • Cool temperature fermentation to retain freshness and vibrant fruit
  • Individual vineyard parcels aged briefly on light lees before blending in May

Good to know:

  • Region: Marlborough, New Zealand
  • Style: Fresh, aromatic dry white wine
  • Closure: Screw Cap
  • Vegan: Yes
  • ABV: 13%

Why we love it:

This is everything you want in a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc – zesty, aromatic, and full of life. With its blend of Awatere Valley minerality and Wairau Valley tropical richness, it’s the perfect partner for seafood, fresh salads, and warm-weather gatherings.
