Nuri’s sardines in spicy olive oil are plump, meaty and full of character, packed at peak freshness and gently infused with chilli and warm spices. The heat is present but well judged – enough to lift the natural richness of the sardines without overpowering them. The olive oil is fragrant and savoury, carrying notes of black pepper, clove and bay that linger beautifully on the palate.
They’re brilliant straight from the tin, piled onto cucumber slices, or served tapas-style with avocado, tomato and crusty bread.

Nuri is one of Portugal’s most iconic tinned fish producers, based in Matosinhos near Porto and producing sardines for over a century. The fish are sourced early each morning from the local market and canned the very same day to lock in freshness.
Every step of Nuri’s meticulous 37-stage production process is kept in-house, allowing for rigorous quality control and consistency. The result is sardines that are beautifully textured, deeply flavoured and instantly recognisable the world over.
