Get to know: Maison Sichel Margaux 2023
Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from the Left Bank - a Margaux red wine from Bordeaux, selected by Maison Sichel.
Tasting Note
Deep garnet in the glass. Blackcurrant and blackberry come first, with violets, a hint of cedar and a subtle touch of oak. The palate is balanced, with fine-grained, polished tannins that give it structure. The finish runs long, with spice and a toasted edge.
Top food pairings:
- Roast duck breast with cherries
- Rack of lamb with a herb crust
- Roast aubergine with tomatoes, garlic and basil
Kate Says
"This is a great introduction to the style of Bordeaux's Margaux appellation from family-run merchant Maison Sichel. It's a well structured, food friendly red where the oak is kept light so the gentle fruit comes through. Best served with a roast dinner"
