Get to know: Libre Y Salvaje Garnacha 2024
Organic Garnacha from Cariñena in Aragón
Tasting Note
Red cherry and ripe strawberry come first, with a little warm spice following behind. It's medium-bodied and soft in the mouth, with enough freshness to keep things lively from the first sip to the last. The tannins are gentle and a peppery edge turns up on the finish. This opens up and becomes more expressive with a bit of time.
Top food pairings:
- Slow-roast lamb shoulder with garlic and rosemary
- Roast aubergine and chickpea tagine with couscous
- Manchego with quince paste
Kate Says
"Open it while the lamb's still resting and give it a bit of air. It's an organic Garnacha from a winery where the grapes travel down through the building by gravity, with no pumps involved, and I really like that about it. Pour it at a Sunday lunch and see what you think."
