Trebbiano di Lugana is an ancient indigenous grape variety that is a bit of a hidden gem. This beautiful example from La Rifra has a wonderfully floral nose with citrus and peach notes that invite you into the glass. On the palate it is mouth-filling and almost creamy, with flavours of soft peach, lemon peel and apple as well as tropical notes on the finish.
Crab linguine is stunning with this wine, chicken Caesar salad as well as being a lovely drop on its own.

Located in the locality of Pilandro, a few steps from Desenzano del Garda, La Rifra has been a family-run winery since the 1970s. They have always shown great attention to quality, from the methods of cultivation of grapes up to the production of wines. They deal with viticulture and wine production, with a determined focus to enhance the territory and the production of quality wines.
The fruit for this wine is planted at 70-80 meters above sea level on soil that is clayey and rich in mineral salts. The mild climate and the proximity of the lake, contribute to ideal conditions for growing high quality grapes.
After careful manual harvesting in small boxes, the grapes are softly squeezed. The press is followed by traditional vinification and temperature controlled fermentation designed to best enhance the aromas and flavours. Aged for 4-5 months in the tank and 2-3 months in the bottle, prior to release.
