A beautifully balanced Australian white wine from the Coonawarra region.
Leconfield Chardonnay is an elegant, modern-style Chardonnay that focuses on ripe stone-fruit character with subtle vanilla and mineral nuances adding depth. Really well made, this wine is a great showcase for estate-grown Coonawarra Chardonnay. Pale gold in colour with inviting aromas of ripe nectarine, peach, and delicate lees-y complexity, overlaid with a subtle hint of vanilla from French oak. On the palate, this medium-bodied Chardonnay is smooth and layered, with persistent stone-fruit flavours and a bright, fine mineral acidity, finishing with a long, elegant mouthfeel.
Top food pairings:
"Leconfield was established by an Englishman in 1974, and their chardonnay is a beautifully made wine for the money. There’s toast on the nose together with lemon, it’s vibrant, crisp, with some weight to the palate but nothing creamy or too rich... very elegant style. Love this."
Leconfield Coonawarra was established in 1974 by the esteemed oenologist Sydney Hamilton, who sought the perfect site for crafting classic Australian wines. Today, winemaker Paul Gordon continues this legacy, producing Chardonnays that reflect the unique terra rossa soils and cool climate of Coonawarra. The estate’s low-yield viticulture ensures concentrated, intensely flavoured fruit with exceptional elegance.
This Coonawarra Chardonnay delivers the perfect combination of ripe stone-fruit, subtle vanilla, and bright mineral acidity. Its elegant, medium-bodied style makes it versatile at the table, pairing beautifully with seafood, roast poultry, or simply enjoyed on its own.
