Get to know: La Gran Bestia Malbec 2025
Malbec from Mendoza - an easy-going Argentinian red wine from several vineyards at different altitudes.
Tasting Note
Ripe plum and blackberry come first, with a violet lift behind and a touch of spice. It's full-bodied and fruity with damson and blackberry, with soft tannins. A small addition of Bonarda gives the wine a little more freshness, but still generous, balanced and easy to enjoy.
Top food pairings:
- Barbecued steak with chimichurri
- Portobello mushroom burger with caramelised onions
- Smoky chilli with rice
Kate Says
"Light the barbecue, or put a steak on midweek, and this fruity Malbec is a good match. It's made using fruit from several parts of Mendoza, at different altitudes, which adds a bit of interest. Open a bottle and see what you think."
