A very inviting pale yellow tinged with green: the 2022 Big Fine Girl is mouth-watering just to look at and it has a really generous and enormously appealing nose – there’s an absolute torrent of gorgeous ripe pear backed by lemon, lime and floral notes. And there’s some more exotic and tropical fruits too. On the palate this is a fabulously rich and generous wine with beautifully integrated acidity entwined in the fruit giving zest, vivacity and freshness.
Utterly delicious on its own but oysters, salmon (and other fish), sashimi, salads with zesty vinaigrettes, spicy Asian dishes, and creamy pastas would all be lovely.

When winemaker Ben Jeanneret looks at vines, he starts to see personalities and individualities between the grape varieties. Some are look like girls while others are more masculine. Riesling, to Ben, is defintely a girl, and the fruit they produce makes big and fine wines that explode with flavour, yet maintain a complexity and elegance unlike any other grape variety.
