Tasting Note

Complex and elegant, this jumps out of the glass with sweet vanilla, juicy plums and tobacco. There's ripe plums and fruit cake with a rich, full bodied texture and firm tannins.

A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec from 3 seperate coastal sites by the Atlantic. Aged in French oak barrels for around 18 months.

This will continue to age and develop for up to 10 years in the cellar but would pair excellently now with red meat dishes.

Producer Info

IDUN are a small, boutique winery run by a French-Danish family originating from Mauritius. They strive to produce wines that reflect their origin. The grapes were hand-picked, sorted and soaked for 4 days pre-fermentation. After the first fermentation the grapes were pressed off their skins and moved to French oak barrels (30% new) where malolactic fermentation took place. The wines were matured for 17 months before being assembled.
