A deliciously juicy and ripe off-dry Riesling from Nahe. The aroma is subtle, with a little ripe lemon, peach and apple fruit, it comes alive on the palate with a rounded body and vibrant lime acidity balancing the fruit sweetness. It's finish has good length and delivers some subtle pineapple and lychee notes along with more apple, peach and lemon fruit and a touch of minerality. Very refreshing stuff.
Enjoy this on its own or serve it up with spicy chilli prawns.
Weingut Hexamer's wines from the Nahe have a deeper and more wholesome feel. A combination of marl and red sandstone dominates and owner/winemaker Harald picks relatively late to ensure rich, textural and ripe styles. Yields across the 7ha estate are kept very low, everything is handpicked and the majority of the wines are racked only once to make sure they’re bottled with vigour and have a clean, slatey streak.
