Henners, Brut Vintage 2018

Get to know: Henners, Brut Vintage

Tasting Note

This superb English Sparkling wine is crafted only in exceptional years, when they believe the concentration, ripeness and maturity of fruit will deliver an exceptional wine for extended ageing. Blended from 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir, the Chardonnay delivers excellent structure and vibrancy, while the Pinot Noir brings body and depth to deliver great roundness on the palate. It spends 4 years on lees before release creating deliciously biscuity, creamy, honey aromas with deliciously poised acidity and a hint of salinity.

Perfect aperitif or celebration wine.

Kate Says

This 2018 vintage sparkler is a true delight - elegant bubbles with a crisp, balanced flavor that dances on the palate. Perfect for a celebratory dinner or a special weekend brunch, it pairs beautifully with fresh seafood or a rich, creamy cheese. Cheers!

Producer Info

Based just 4 miles from the sea in Herstmonceux, East Sussex, the 7 acre vineyard was created in 2007 by ex-Formula One engineer, Lawrence Warr. The winery was named in honour of Larry's French ancestor, Henners Dubois, who was forced to flee Paris for England during the French Revolution in the in the late 18th Century.

Already a founder member of WineGB’s Sustainability Programme, Henners Vineyard can now announce it is one of just 18 accredited members to have been certified as sustainable by Wine GB.

2018 was a magical vintage, with perfect ripeness. That Summer was wonderfully warm and dry, leading to a perfect growing season that meant beautifully healthy grapes could be harvested with fantastic flavours, along with exceptional sugar and acid balance. Blended from 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir, the Chardonnay delivers excellent structure and vibrancy, while the Pinot Noir brings body and depth to deliver great roundness on the palate. The Vintage spends 4 years on lees before release.
