Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc but not as you know it, this is more full bodied with white peach and grapefruit, crisp acidity and balanced minerality. More Bordeaux in style than many of its neighbours, full of class.
A lovely wine to pair with goats cheese, something light with courgettes would do just the trick.
Established in 1994 Herzog is an artisan family winery acclaimed for growing handcrafted wines from their exceptional 'Grand Cru' organic vineyard in Marlborough. This Sauvignon has been treated a little differently to most in the region. Extended cold maceration on the skins extracts a more golden colour to the wine before wild yeast fermentation and 15 months of barrel ageing on the lees with regular stirring gives the wine more body and depth.
