Giuseppe Cortese has been making wines in Piedmonte since 1971, his sons and daughters now help in the winery and vineyards and they even have a small B&B on site for visitors. Their flagship Barbaresco is a serious beast and they have a number of different wines from around the region including Dolcetto D'Alba and here the Langhe Nebbiolo.
The purpose here is to use the younger vineyards to create a fresh, fruity, youthful Nebbiolo that's bursting with vibrant red berries, and crisp minerality, the soft tannins lead to an incredibly a more-ish finish. A great pairing for game birds and a wine that will continue to develop over time but is fantastic in it's youth.
