Tasting Note

Butterscotch, caramel and vanilla bean on the nose. The palate is lush and coats the mouth, with coffee and fresh cream, dulce de leche, coconut and maple, and a note of Belgian waffles. It's rich enough to sip after dinner in place of dessert.

"The cream comes from five family farms in County Cork, and it goes in with the Irish whiskey within 48 hours of being collected. I like that. Pour it over plenty of ice after dinner, and you can skip the pudding."

Five Farms gets its cream from five family-owned dairy farms in County Cork, all along the Wild Atlantic Way. The farmers belong to a local co-op of over 500 farms. The brand says the cows are outside for around 300 days a year, grazing on grass. In 2018, soon after launch, it won the Chairman's Trophy at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge with 97 points, which the brand says is the highest score that competition has given an Irish cream liqueur.
