A vibrant Chinese Chardonnay from the high-altitude vineyards of Ningxia, nestled along the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountains.
Fei Tswei Magma Chardonnay is a crisp and fresh white that balances bright fruit with a gentle creamy texture. Pale straw in colour with a subtle green tinge, it opens with lively aromas of citrus, white peach, fresh melon and a touch of orange blossom. On the palate, this Ningxia Chardonnay is medium-bodied and beautifully structured, showing flavours of juicy peach, grapefruit and ripe melon alongside a delicate hint of cashew nut. The lively acidity keeps everything fresh and energetic, finishing long and clean with a lightly savoury edge. A well-balanced Chinese white wine that shows just how exciting the wines of Ningxia can be.
Top food pairings:
"Chinese wine is one of the most exciting frontiers in the wine world right now, and this Chardonnay is a brilliant introduction. It’s fresh, textured and quietly confident – the sort of white that surprises people in the best possible way."
Fei Tswei Winery is a boutique producer based in Ningxia’s Helan Mountain wine region, one of China’s most promising areas for quality wine. The 85-hectare vineyard was planted in 2013 at around 1,160 metres above sea level, where bright sunshine, low rainfall and dramatic day-to-night temperature swings help grapes ripen slowly while retaining freshness. The vineyards are worked organically with careful hand harvesting, allowing the winery to produce expressive wines such as this Ningxia Chardonnay that reflect the purity and energy of the region.
This Ningxia Chardonnay is a brilliant example of modern Chinese white wine – combining ripe stone fruit, bright citrus freshness and subtle texture. It’s an intriguing bottle for curious wine lovers and a versatile food wine that works beautifully with seafood, noodles and lighter dishes.
