False Bay, Old School Syrah 2023

Get to know: False Bay Old School Syrah

Tasting Note

Another winner from the False Bay range.

A proper old-school red – dark and spicy with bags of personality. This Syrah opens with aromas of blackberries, cracked black pepper, and dried herbs, followed by a touch of smoked meat and violets. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied, fruity and refreshingly dry, with fine tannins, lively acidity, and a savoury finish.

Unfussy, unfiltered, and unpretentious – just really good Syrah with a wild side.

Pairs well with:

  • Grilled lamb chops or slow-cooked beef

  • Chargrilled veg or mushroom burgers

  • Pepperoni pizza or smoky pulled pork

  • Lentil stew or BBQ jackfruit

  • Friday night in or a Saturday braai

Kate Says

"Honestly I think this wine just keeps getting better. For anyone who wants a good value shiraz that has lots of pure fruit but isn’t too big and peppery, this is a great choice. It's makes for a great barbecue wine."
