Traditionally produced from 70% Estate Grown Blue Agave - mellowed for 14 days in American Oak. A long-standing favorite that has won the hearts and minds of the people in the magical town of Tequila and the surrounding areas. The aroma is full of cooked agave and herbal notes, with delicate notes of anis and black pepper. The palate is all about the sweet cooked agave flavour.
This historical tequila is the foundation for any perfect cocktail but they suggest using it in 'La Batanga' or a grilled pineapple margarita.
La Batanga
INGREDIENTS:
• 2oz El Tequileño Blanco.
• 1 whole freshly squeezed lime.
• Mexican Cola.
• Coarse Salt.
GLASS: Highball
METHOD: Build over cubed ice in a salt rimmed highball glass. Top with Mexican Cola and stir with
a knife. Garnish with a lime wedge.
El Tequileno began in 1959 when Don Jorge Salles Cuervo pursued his dream and establishes his own tequila. He calls it El Tequileño to honor the birthplace of tequila. By 1961 it was the preferred tequila in 'La Batanga'. IN 1970 Don Jorge invites his son Juan Antonio to join the family business. In 2018, Juan Antonio Salles was bestowed the title of Gran Tequilero by the National Chamber of the Tequila Industry for his lifetime achievement. To date only 4 people have been awarded this designation.
Don Jorge Salles Cuervo is a descendant to the most renowned of the tequila families. His deeprooted passion for quality and taste led him to the Highlands of Jalisco where Blue Weber Agave is naturally sweeter. He also knew the importance of water and need for rich minerals to distill a premium spirit. Don Jorge set on a quest to combine these critical elements and make them the cornerstones of El Tequileño.
