Domaine Philippe Livera, Gevrey-Chambertin "Clos Village" 2024

Get to know: Domaine Philippe Livera Gevrey-Chambertin “Clos Village” 2024

A characterful Burgundy red wine from the historic heart of Gevrey-Chambertin.

Tasting Note

Domaine Philippe Livera Gevrey-Chambertin “Clos Village” 2024 is an elegant yet quietly powerful Pinot Noir that shows real depth and definition. Deep ruby in colour, it opens with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, wild strawberry and a subtle earthy note typical of top Gevrey-Chambertin. On the palate, this Burgundy red is medium-bodied but intense, with dark-fruited concentration, fine-grained tannins and a savoury, mineral edge shaped by the fossil-rich soils. It finishes long and poised, with freshness and natural balance. A serious village wine that punches well above its weight and beautifully expresses its terroir.

Top food pairings:

  • Roast duck with cherry or plum sauce
  • Grilled lamb cutlets with rosemary
  • Mushroom risotto or lentil-based dishes
Kate Says

"This is proper Gevrey – dark-fruited, confident and quietly elegant. One for slow dinners and good conversation, especially if you love Pinot with backbone."

Producer Info

Domaine Philippe Livera is one of the most exciting names in modern Gevrey-Chambertin, now led by fourth-generation winemaker Damien Livera. Since 2007, Damien has transformed the domaine into a benchmark producer in the Côte de Nuits, focusing on sustainable vineyard work and long, traditional fermentations to capture true Gevrey character. Old vines and meticulous farming give these wines their depth, precision and unmistakable sense of place.

How it’s made:

  • Varieties: 100% Pinot Noir
  • Grapes harvested at optimal ripeness to balance power and freshness
  • Traditional fermentation with long, gentle extraction
  • Slow fermentation in cold, historic cellars
  • Matured to enhance structure and preserve natural elegance

Good to know:

  • Region: Gevrey-Chambertin, Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, France
  • Style: Red, still, medium-bodied
  • Vintage: 2024

Why we love it:

This Gevrey-Chambertin red wine delivers everything Pinot Noir fans look for – dark fruit, structure and real finesse. From old vines and an exceptional clos, it’s a beautifully expressive Burgundy that works just as well for special meals as it does for cellaring
