Chateau L'Escarelle Les deux Anges Rose 2023

Get to know: Chateau L'Escarelle Les deux Anges Rose

Tasting Note

Château L'Escarelle Les Deux Anges Rosé 2023 is a bone-dry Provence rosé with real finesse. Expect wild strawberries, pink grapefruit and a touch of mango on the palate, with a clean, fresh finish and a lovely soft texture. It’s got just enough weight to carry food, but is still crisp and refreshing.

Try this with grilled courgettes with lemon and herbs, Provençal roast chicken, or a soft, floral goat’s cheese like Valençay.

Kate Says

"This is a classy rosé that doesn’t shout – it’s subtle, elegant and quietly confident. A proper grown-up pink for warm evenings, seafood lunches, or just because. One glass and you'll get why people love Provence rosé."

Producer Info

Chateau de L’Escarelle of one of the most prestigious wine estates in the heart of Provence, with 100 hectares of organically certified vineyards set in 1,000 hectares of beautiful woodland. The wine ‘Les deux anges’ (the two angels) draws its inspiration from two statues found in the site of a new state-of-the-art storehouse they began building in 2015.

Grapes for this rosé are picked early in the morning to keep things fresh, then gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel to lock in those delicate aromatics. There’s no malolactic fermentation – so you keep all that zippy acidity – and ageing on fine lees gives it a bit of texture and extra depth.
The blend is 60% Syrah, 20% Grenache and 20% Cinsault – a classic southern trio that gives the wine its soft red fruit, floral lift and refreshing finish. It’s a brilliant example of modern Provence winemaking, where elegance and environmental care go hand in hand.

This wine is suitable for consumption by vegetarians and vegans.
