Lafon-Rochet sit opposite the vineyards of world renowned Lafite, with a majority of Cabernet Sauvignon their wines are best suited to long bottle ageing before drinking, with their concentrated dark fruits, complex spice and big structure.
Guy Tesseron took over Lafon-Rochet in 1960 and set about replanting their vineyards and rebuilding the Chateau, with some fantastic vintages under his belt they continued to improve on their wines and blending and now in the hands of third generation Tesseron they're focused on making fine wines with long ageing potential.
This is a wine to lay down in the cellar and forget about for the next 10 years. If you were tempted to open sooner then be certain to decant before enjoying.
